Havana Gold Colt Wins at Ascot

Havana Gold was responsible for a winner on QIPCO-sponsored King George day at Ascot on Saturday when Crack On Crack On won the Porsche Handicap over the straight mile.

It was fitting that Havana Gold should have a winner on the card as Tweenhills and Qatar Racing were entertaining guests - including many breeders who have used Tweenhills stallions in 2018 - at the track on Saturday. There was plenty of cheer when Crack On Crack On (pictured) showed the trademark Havana Gold attitude to get up near the line.

Crack On Crack On has now won three handicaps this season, collecting over £80,000 for his owners Paul and Clare Rooney in the process, and he's open to even more improvement after just seven starts. He was bred by Whitwell Bloodstock out of the Mujadil mare Almunia.

Among those in the Tweenhills box were Denis and Clare Barry of Glebe Farm Stud, who bred another winner on the card at Ascot, Cliffs of Capri. That gelding's dam Shannon Spree is currently in foal to Hot Streak.

Not to be left out, Charm Spirit had another winner on Friday evening when Bailly made it two wins from three outings in the 100% Magners Irish Cider conditions race at Down Royal. She once again looked very straightforward as she claimed runner-up Sundance Star near the finish. Bailly is out of Polish Precedent mare Czarna Rosa and was bred by Newhall Estate Farm.
