More 2-year-old winners for Charm Spirit

Charm Spirit had had two more winners from his second crop - currently 2-year-olds - in recent days thanks to Air Force Jet in Ireland and Salerne in France.

After filly Lambeth Walk got the ball rolling for Charm Spirit's juveniles earlier in the season with two wins - she now goes for the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot - the sire has had more success with his youngsters of late.

First Qatar Racing homebred Air Force Jet built on his debut narrow second when winning a five-furlong maiden at Navan last Saturday for trainer Joseph O'Brien and jockey Shane Crosse. Air Force Jet is the first foal of smart sprinter Wind Fire (by Distorted Humor), who was a close third in the 2013 Gr.2 Norfolk Stakes ta Royal Ascot. Air Force Jet himself now heads to the Royal Meeting.

Over in France on Wednesday, Salerne improved upon her debut third when making all in a 1200m maiden at La Teste de Buch for trainer Didier Guillemin and jockey Olivier Peslier. Salerne is owned by Écurie des Mouettes and was bred by Jean-Pierre-Joseph Dubois, out of Arigorn mare Saligorne.

There was another new Charm Spirit winner later on Wednesday as Ouzo landed a comepetitive 3-year-old handicap at Nottingham. Trained by Richard Hannon for owners Michael Kerr-Dineen and Martin Hughes, he was ridden by Sean Levey. Ouzo is out of Miswaki Term mare Miss Meltemi and was bred by Equine Breeding Limited.

Congratulations to all connections.
