Assistant Stud Manager

A Point in Time…
I’ve always been around horses, did pony club and hunting early on, and from 14 started riding out. My first job after school was with Kate Walton. I did some pointing whilst there and rode a winner, New Time. I also rode what must be one of the few coloured horses to Point!

Gloucester to Down Under…
I first worked at Tweenhills from January 2014 for a year as a stud hand. I then did the Irish National Stud Course, where I won the John Durkan Award which got me a job as Pupil Assistant to Brian Meehan. Two years there were as Assistant Trainer. I then went to Australia for almost a year, working for Matt Cumani.

A golden opportunity…
I bumped into David at York and asked if he knew of anyone looking for staff – I started back at Tweenhills on September 10th! I’m just looking to learn as much as I can, and obviously very excited to work with such high quality bloodstock in 2019.

And away from work…
As most people working with horses know, spare time is a luxury! I am going to take running back up again – primarily because David has bet me that I won’t get within half an hour of his time in a marathon. TV-wise I’d be fairly obsessed with The Big Bang Theory. I also love to go back home to Yorkshire whenever I can, see God’s country. I’m from Bedale which we call “The Gateway to The Dales.”
